£25 Million Cup Final Bets Bonanza
William Hill Plc are predicting that football fans will gamble over £25million on the outcome of the FA Cup Final and the Champions League Final between Chelsea and Manchester United over the next five days.
William Hill say that although they are predicting that both the FA Cup Final and the all-English club Champions League Final will produce record Football Betting turnovers of over £10million, they have no idea which of the two will prove to be the most popular with punters.
"High rolling punters dislike matches which look difficult to predict, like the Champions League, so we may well see the bigger money bets placed on the Cup Final, which also boasts an England-Wales, Premiership-Championship rivalry angle. Against that, there are many punters who only want to bet on the so-called glamour teams of the big four, and they will focus on the Champions League Final." said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
"Whatever happens, these will be the two biggest betting turnover club matches of the season and, along with the unexpected presence of Rangers in the UEFA Cup Final, offer us some consolation in a year which has seen all the domestic nations fail to qualify for Euro 2008. At least £25m will be gambled on these two games in the next few days"
Portsmouth are 1/3 favourites to lift the FA Cup with William Hill who offer Cardiff at 12/5 to do so.
Pompey are 8/11 to win in 90 minutes, with Cardiff 7/2 and the draw 21/10. Portsmouth are 8/1 to win the game in extra time, with Cardiff 12/1 to do likewise, while Portsmouth are 9/1to win on a penalty shoot out, with Cardiff 11/1.
In the meantime, William Hill Casino are offering a free money welcome bonus for all new players.
