Bwin Poker Registers 14.2% Growth in 2008
April 27, 2009
The BWin Poker released their yearly profits for 2008 and the news is very encouraging for the continually growing betting giant.
The blossoming poker room arm of the company was highlighted in these figures which saw a 14% increase in revenue from 82.5 million Euros in 2007 to 94.2 million last year.
As large parts of the economy suffer under the climate and a budget in England is set to show the full scale of the crisis, bwin is experiencing unparalleled growth in the poker sector with soaring revenue in 2008.
Figures released this week show the Austro-German gaming company showed an 8.6% rise to €81 million in net revenue between 2007 and 2008.
As was previously reported here, BWin Poker recently acquired Poker Room, one of the oldest online poker rooms in existence earlier this year.
In October 2008 it also released the P5 platform in Italy. These astute acquisitions and savvy business decisions are reasons for the continued growth of the company. At peak times the bwin brand can boast 45,000 individual players at its cyber tables.
Although most people are interested in the poker side of the company, its figures across the board are encouraging and proof the future of BWin and its players is very bright.
Gaming revenues across all business units including the BWin Sportsbook and BWin Casino sides were up 19 percent to €420.9 million from €353.5 million in 2007.
