Hollywood Poker Brings World Poker Tour National Televised Event

Hollywood Poker is now accepting registration for the inaugural Hollywood Poker Open, a series of 28 events held over 21 action-filled days, March 4-24. The $10,000 buy-in World Poker Tour (WPT) Main Event, March 20-24, will be the first WPT championship event held in the Midwest and will feature a final table on March 24 that will be filmed for television broadcast on Fox Sports Net's (FSN) national television network.

A $2-$2.5 million prize pool is anticipated for the Main Event, which is expected to attract several top professional players. With a field of 250+, the winner's share will exceed $1 million and the champion will receive a WPT Champion Bracelet and $25,500 paid entry to the WPT World Championship in Las Vegas in April and the title of WPT Champion.

Action from the Hollywood Poker Open final table airs on consecutive Sundays -- June 20 and 27 -- on FSN as part of the WPT Season VIII schedule. Free bleacher seating in the Hollywood Ballroom will be provided to fans interested in watching the final table on March 24. Seating begins at 3 p.m. and taping begins promptly at 4 p.m. Seats can be reserved by emailing tickets@worldpokertour.com.

A wide range of No Limit and Limit Hold'em events will be featured throughout the Hollywood Poker Open, including events for Ladies (March 6) and Seniors 50+ (March 7 and 17). In addition, the Open will host Limit 7-Card Stud, Limit Stud 8 or Better High/Lo, Limit Omaha 8 or Better High/Lo and Pot Limit Omaha events.

There are also super satellites and second chance cash tournaments throughout the Open.
