PKR Social in Dusseldorf a Success
May 26, 2011
The first non-U.K. PKR Social was held last weekend as 45 German speaking PKR Poker players plus staff members descended upon Dusseldorf for a weekend packed full of fun.
The two-day event kicked off at the Kaarst Paintball Arena with players split into six teams kitted out with masks, guns and 500 bullets. After a full five games per person, those still with energy left embarked on even more paintball until all bullets had run out.
Once back at the hotel and after a quick break to freshen up and then tuck into the evening meal laid on by the company there was only one question on all players' lips, "Can we now play some poker?"
Of course PKR did not disappoint and pleased all in attendance by laying on a freeroll with prizes from the exclusive PKR shop including PKR hoodies, t-shirts and tournament tickets. With the backdrop of a free bar to boot, the freeroll lasted into the early hours of the morning with 'jd1982hh' finally seeing off the challenge of 'SpeedySnake' to claim a 300pc PKR chip set.
After sleeping off the hangovers the PKR players had a well deserved late breakfast before parting and saying goodbye to both old acquaintances renewed and new friends made.
PKR Marketing & CRM Executive Germany, Marc Reiner commented "PKR Social: Dusseldorf was an absolutely fantastic event with lots of action and even more laughter. It was a pleasure to meet so many PKR players in person and have fun together - the perfect start for many European PKR Socials to come."
The PKR Social concept was born out earlier this year and has seen PKR invite players to a host of events like BAMMA 5, PKR Social Midlands golf day, PKR Social London poker weekend and more. PKR Social: Dusseldorf was the first social event held outside of the U.K. with more expected to follow later this year.
