Poker Stars Revises EPT Awards
October 04, 2010
Poker Stars has announced the details of this year's European Poker Tour (EPT) Awards, which have been designed to recognise and reward the top performances from the latest edition of the world's richest tour.
Poker Stars stated that its EPT Awards proved 'hugely popular' with poker fans across Europe and beyond while creating a 'real buzz' over last year's sixth season as players vied to top the rankings and snag titles.
The latest edition of the EPT Awards feature a revised structure that bestows different points depending on the size of a tournament's field while including a new prize for the best heads-player.
A golden trophy will accompany the Player Of The Year prize while a silver version will be bestowed to the winners of the Omaha Player of The Year, Mixed Games Player Of The Year, Heads-Up Player Of The Year, Players' Choice Of The Year, Best Achievement Of The Year, Best Online Qualifier and Best Country accolades. In addition, each individual winner will be rewarded with a seat into the opening event of the EPT's eighth season while the nation taking home the Best Country prize will see a €10,000 freeroll tournament played live at the stop closest to their borders.
Players taking part in EPT events will be able to cast votes on their fellow competitors for the Players' Choice Of The Year and Best Achievement Of The Year prizes while the Best Country award will be determined by the highest percentage of cashes. The winner of last season's Best Country accolade, the Czech Republic, is set to host its live €10,000 freeroll at the Prague stop of the EPT in December.
